Player Spotlight: Frances Burton

This Player Spotlight features Frances Burton, a sophomore at Amherst College where she is a member of the women’s squash team. Frances hails from San Marino, learned to play squash at LA Squash Academy, and attended Mayfield Senior School in Pasadena. There, although squash has yet to become a CIF-sponsored sport, Frances took it upon herself to build a new Mayfield squash team. She personally reached out to US SQUASH and procured a grant, recruited team members, obtained support from Mayfield's Athletics Department and Booster Club, and captained and helped coach the team until she graduated. Frances competed on Amherst’s women’s team as a freshman, and looks forward to another exciting year of collegiate squash in the coming season. Thank you, Frances, and good luck at Amherst!
